FISCAL YEAR CLOSE - JUNE 30, 1999

This is a good time to review both your Foundation and Regents gift funds. If you have a deficit balance in a Regents gift transfer fund (one that is tied to a UC San Diego Foundation fund) please submit your Request For Funds form as soon as possible to our office to ensure the transfer makes it to the June 30 ledger.

Preliminary June 30, 1999 fund statements should be available on the Foundation Accounting’s web site by early August.

The Foundation’s external auditors will begin their examination of the Foundation’s records mid-August. The final audited financial statements will be submitted for approval to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees at their December 1999 meeting.

• We are looking at changing our fund accounting software. The format of the fund statements will most likely look different from our existing statements.

• With the accounting software conversion, we will probably be changing the fund number structure of Foundation funds.

STAFF EDUCATION CLASSES

There are two Staff Education classes that might be of interest to fund administrators. The first is the UCSD Foundation Fund Financial Statements Class and the second is the UCSD Gift Processing class.
