The Vice Chancellor for External Relations (ER) is responsible for managing
UCSD's interactions with a diverse group of external constituencies.
The principal goal of ER is to foster an appreciation of UCSD and to
mobilize external support for the University. This support takes the
form of gift revenue, state & federal funding, positive media coverage,
legislation, public goodwill and support, alumni and volunteer assistance,
and much more.
